Why Do Guys Stop Replying?

I know they say women are complicated, but men do a few things that are pretty mind-boggling too.

Like, they will act super into you and text you constantly for a few days, and then…

They disappear or the texts start coming back slower and slower until he stops texting all together.

And asking guys outright doesn’t get an answer either.

So what’s going on?

Here’s a few reasons why men will stop texting you back.

  1. The excitement wore off.

Just like relationships have honeymoon periods, so does texting.

You meet a new person and it’s really fun to talk to them and get to know them.

Or maybe you’re just flirting.

It’s exciting either way, but then you run out of ways to flirt and funny lines.

Some guys will flirt with a girl and come on strong, but once he’s “won her over” he moves on to another challenge.

  1. His interest waned.

This is similar but slightly different. In this case, he was truly interested but then maybe the two of you ran out of things to talk about.

Or maybe he realized you’re not compatible.

He might feel bad about it, and it’s easier to just fade away.

After all, you’re not in a relationship, so he can’t exactly break up with you. It’s not the nicest or most mature thing, but more and more men do it.

  1. You were too available.

This seems crazy. He’s into you and texting like crazy. You’re into him so you text right back.

And that turns him off.

You probably put off doing a few things to text with this new guy. So maybe you can stop making it a priority.

Sit down and text at times, but if you have something to do, do it.

You can wait few minutes to text back when you need to finish something, and it lets him know you have a life.

That can keep him interested, and he still feels like he’s chasing you.

  1. You texted too often.

If you start texting more than him, he might get overwhelmed or frustrated with trying to respond.

This is closely related to the last point.

You want to give him room to think about you, and room to feel like you has to win you over a bit.

  1. TMI

Too much information.

If you complain about some negative things in your life, and share more details than he’s ready to learn about, it can run him off.

Texting is fun, and at first you should keep it lighter: flirting, teasing, getting to know each other.

So many people want to have long, deep conversations over text.

That can be cool.

But you can’t keep that all day, every day either, and too much information about your life early on can be…well, too much.

  1. He found someone else.

You never know if a guy is texting more than one girl.

That’s the beauty of texting, if you ask a lot of people. They like to have multiple conversations.

It’s like dating.

Guys will test the water with several people. They might be on a dating app (maybe that’s how you met them?) so they’re talking to different women.

And then one clicks.

So they stop talking to you.

It happens, and you have to shrug it off.

In all of these cases, you can’t take it personally because you don’t always know which reason it is.

  1. He’s texting when he’s in a relationship.

Sadly, some men will text with other women until they want to meet or text too often.

Again, you may never know if this is the case.

That’s why, if a man doesn’t text you back within 24 hours, he’s not excited about you.

Move on to greener grass! Yes, you can move on to texting someone else too.

If, by some chance, something did happen that prevented him from returning your text, he can get back to you later. Then it’s up to you to choose if you believe him or not.

You’ve probably stopped returning someone’s texts in the past too. Thinking about your reasons can shine some light on why men will stop texting.

Read through these reasons and see if any make sense, but don’t dwell on it. There’s other men out there!
